Company Introduction

The rural folks of Camotes Islands never had a dream of having electricity in their backyard. With R.A. 6038 and P.D. 269 as amended, electrification has already reached even to the remote sitios of a barangay within the coverage area.

Geographical Location

The administration building of CELCO is located at Sitio Tamban, Western Poblacion, Poro, Camotes, Cebu. It is about 1.5 kilometers away from the heart of the town proper. Its franchise area covers four municipalities of Camotes Island namely Poro, San Francisco, Tudela and Pilar.

ISSUANCE OF FRANCHIZE CERTIFICATE

The National Electrification Commission has issued to CELCO the Certificate of Franchise on November 6, 1985 and was given the authority to operate for a period of fifty (50) years. CELCO still has 16 more years to operate as distributor of power in Camotes Islands.

PERFORMANCE RATING (CLASSIFICATION AND PERFORMANCE)

In 2004 a dramatic change really happened after all the efforts have been exerted to lower down the system loss which contributed much for the EC’s turnaround to Category A+ up to 2013. Since then, CELCO has been rated Triple A (AAA) for five (5) years now by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) and has turned from Medium EC to Large EC.

  12. Golden Dagitab Award for its invaluable contribution in the successful implementation of Rural Electrification Program
  13. 2016 Top Customer Visayas Area (Award from the NPC)
  14. Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of its consistent timely settlement of powerbills for the current year thereby contributing the enhancement of the NPC’s financial condition
